Missoula's Evolving Culinary Scene: A Taste of Local Flavor

Discover the latest additions and enduring favorites in Missoula's vibrant restaurant landscape.

Missoula's dining scene is experiencing a dynamic transformation, blending cherished establishments with exciting new ventures.

In early 2024, Liquid Planet Grille unveiled its new location on Brooks Street, offering an expanded menu and extended hours compared to its sister locations.

Notably, this Grille is set to serve alcohol, enhancing the dining experience for patrons.

Downtown Missoula has also welcomed a wave of new businesses.

Among them, The Stables Restaurant at 235 W. Main and the Montana Gift Corral at 117 W. Front have added to the city's diverse offerings.

Additionally, two beloved food trucks, Mexican Moose and Stuffed 406, have joined forces to establish a brick-and-mortar presence at 221 W. Broadway, bringing their unique flavors to a permanent location.

However, the culinary landscape has seen some closures.

After 12 years of serving the community, Burns St. Bistro announced its permanent closure in 2024, leaving a void for fans of its farm-to-table offerings.

Similarly, Sushi Hana Downtown, a staple since 1998, declared that New Year's Eve 2024 would be its last, marking the end of an era for sushi enthusiasts.

Looking ahead, the city anticipates the arrival of new establishments.

Wingstop has announced plans to open a Missoula location in May 2026, adding to the city's array of dining options.

Additionally, Mazevo Coffee is set to open its first Missoula location on September 12, 2024, offering both drive-thru and in-house seating for coffee aficionados.

Missoula's restaurant scene continues to evolve, reflecting the community's commitment to culinary excellence and innovation.

Whether you're a longtime resident or a visitor, there's always something new and exciting to discover in the city's vibrant dining landscape.
